Don’t Put Your Suitcase On Your Bed; It’s GROSS

When you leave for a trip or return from one, you always have to pack and unpack your suitcase. And majority of the people do this one yucky thing that we really shouldn't do. That's putting our suitcase on the bed. But, do you really think about how gross doing this is?

Time To Pack

When you need to pack your suitcase, you pull it out of the closet or from under the bed. What do you do next, you put it on something higher or elevated so you can access it easier. That's why most people just throw it on their bed, because it's convenient. But before you do that now, you may want to consider putting it on something else.

Do You Know Where Your Suitcase Has Been?

If you think about it, your suitcase travels with you wherever you go. But it also endures more than we do. You suitcase wheels roll everywhere. Through dirt, dirty ground, water, and more. Then you receive it, you go to your home or hotel, and immediately throw your bag on your bed to unpack. But did you consider where you dragged your luggage before doing so? Now all that dirt, grime, and not to mention germs, are now all over your freshly made bed that you haven't even slept in. And if you think it's just your suitcase wheels that are dirty, think again. The exterior of your suitcase is also riddled with germs.

According to an advice column by the Washington Post, a few physicians interviewed for the article reflect the sentiment of avoiding placing luggage on your bed.

Rolls Reversed

Now we all hope that when we get to a hotel, it's gonna be clean. Well sometimes that isn't the case. In fact bed bugs are a huge worry now when you go to a hotel. And if you put your suitcase on the bed that just so happens to have bed bugs (gross!!!), they could also get on your luggage and next thing you know, you're taking home some critters you don't want or need.

AAA Club Alliance says to sanitize your luggage when you arrive to your destination. That includes home as well. They also say it helps to spray down your luggage with spray disinfectant. That his helpful for sure. And when you get home and wipe it down, it would be also beneficial to vacuum your luggage, inside and out.

Nevada Spot is No. 3 on the Best of USA Travel List

Several Nevada travel attractions have been named among the 150 best things to do in the United States. This list is from Travel Lemming, and one Nevada travel spot is even No. 3 on the tally.

The annual list from Travel Lemming "aims to help Americans discover unique attractions around the country and in their own backyards. It emphasizes human-curated recommendations over AI chatbots," according to a statement. "A diverse array of attractions made the article's top 10 designation, including a wild animal sanctuary in Colorado, a Bavarian Village in Washington, and the world's largest musical instrument in Virginia," they add.

Travel Lemming is an "online travel guide with more than 10 million annual readers. It publishes guides written by local and expert travelers who have first-hand experience in destinations across the United States and the world."

So, which Nevada travel spot made the cut? Lots, actually. Read on for the tally, including which spot is No. 3. I really like this list, because is has some attractions that I wouldn't have thought of visiting. For the full list of 150 of the best things to do in the United States this summer, go here.

Woah! This is in Rachel, Nevada. Travel Lemming says to look for aliens. To each their own! "Drive to the entrance gate of a top-secret government building and hang out in an out-of-this-world town full of model UFOs and alien-themed restaurants," they explain.

78. Party All Night at Electric Daisy Carnival

Here's another Las Vegas option. Travel Lemming says, "Dance from dusk ‘til dawn to some of your favorite EDM artists at this world-renowned music and art festival." Sounds fun, right? Let's do it!
