What Is Phone Peril?
Have you dropped your phone? Maybe thinking you left it somewhere? That is what phone peril is. According to Zenger News, the average person will experience phone peril about 140 times a year. That’s about 2.4 times each week.
Who Is Affected The Most By Phone Peril?
The survey done by OnePoll for a tech care company called Asurion, took 2,000 U.S. adults. They then took the 2,000 allotted people and divided it by 4. Giving 500 people per category. That’s 500 Gen Zers, Millennials, Gen Xers, and Baby Boomers. Of the 2,000 people who were surveyed, they found that Gen Zers were the ones who suffered from phone peril the most. They averaged about 187 times a year, instead of the average of 140.
They found that the average person will own their phone for 2.2 years. How many of those phones in that time span are broken? About 69% of them. Now looking at Gen Zers, they’re a whopping 79%! This includes cracked screens, battery issues, and their phones overheating. 24% of the results were cracked screens. 21% were battery issues and about 15% said they’re phones have issues with overheating.
How Long Can They Go Without Their Phones?
The poll showed that about one-third of them could last an entire summer without their phones. But the younger generations were a bit different. 27% of boomers said they were willing to spend their summer without having a phone or devices.
What Do They Use Their Phones For Mostly?
Results showed that about 49% of people always use their phones to stream or listen to music. They also use them mostly to take photos and check other things like weather, mail, etc..
