The One Regret Steven Spielberg Has Regarding “Jaws”
It’s no doubt that “Jaws” is a classic cult movie. Everyone loves the film and even if you haven’t seen it, you know what it’s about. Steven Spielberg did a great job portraying how scary sharks can be in the water. In fact he did it so well, that he has one major regret when making the huge blockbuster hit!
Spielberg in an interview said, “People started hunting sharks after that movie came out. I regret the decimation of the shark population because of the book and the film. I’m never going into the ocean again. I think the sharks are mad at me.”
It is sad that people started hunting sharks for fun back when “Jaws” was released. Luckily now, there are laws about catching sharks in some areas of the world. That should give some relief to Spielberg. I guess the one good thing we can take away from this is, Steven Spielberg will never go into the ocean again, but he’ll still direct amazing movies. Let’s jut hope he doesn’t create another cult following film that ends up becoming a trend.
Jaws is a 1975 American Thriller that Steven Spielberg directed. It was based on the 1974 novel by Peter Benchley. The film started Roy Scheider, Robert Shaw, Richard Dreyfuss and more! The film was mainly shot on location at Martha’s Vineyard in Massachusetts. “Jaws” was the first major motion picture ever to be show on the ocean. They came across a lot of issues during the filming like going over budget and going past their schedule.
