No, it’s not just random trees being named celebrity names. Scientists named a tree after him! It doesn’t get more official than that. Uvariopsis DiCaprio is the name of the tree. Cameroon’s Ebo Forest is home to many endangered plants and animals. People have raised money for Ebo for a while now, including Leonardo DiCaprio. He’s donated a lot to the cause. In thanks for his contributions, the scientists named the tree after him.
