You’re Seeing More Big Game Weekend Advertising In Las Vegas
Las Vegas certainly isn’t shy about letting people know that this city is here to make money. Gobs of cash. The city was built on that fact. So, it’s not surprising that we’re already seeing “Big Game Weekend” advertisers and sponsors taking over our city. Expect many more to arrive in the month leading up to the championship game at Las Vegas’ Allegiant Stadium.
Goodyear And Doritos Are The First Big Game Advertisers To Arrive In Town
First, Frito-Lay turns one entire side of Luxor Hotel & Casino into a giant Doritos chip. Actually, that’s a pretty impressive marketing idea. After all, Doritos chips are triangles. The Luxor is in the shape of a pyramid, so you get the idea. Perfect fit.
Then, the Goodyear Blimp is seen floating over the Las Vegas Strip. Of course, this floating aircraft usually shows up at major sporting events. However, to see it hovering over Las Vegas a month before “The Big Game” seems a bit unusual.
So, since major companies are already beginning their marketing campaigns at the site of the pro football championship game, who arrives next?
Major Brands Are Paying Big Bucks For TV Ads
Of course, by now you know “The Big Game” will take place here in Las Vegas on Sunday, February 11. Additionally, the spectacle will be broadcast on CBS television. According to an article by Dianna Dilworth on Brand-Innovators.com, major advertisers are ponying up big bucks for TV ads. In fact, up to $7 million dollars for a :30 spot. Huge money!
At the present time, major championship game TV advertisers include well-known brands. For example, Doritos, Popeyes, FanDuel, Reese’s, TurboTax, Oreo, and Dove. Per Dilworth’s article, you’ll also be seeing a Martin Scorsese-directed ad for Squarespace. Additionally, snack foods like MTN Dew, M&M’s, Drumstick ice cream treats, Nerds, and Pringles will also be joining the commercial parade.
So, which of these brands will pay big bucks to take over The Sphere? Or will it be a brand which does not have a TV ad airing during the game? Will other resorts offer up a side of their hotel buildings to advertisers as well? It seems like easy money. I’m sure we’ll begin seeing more video screen and billboard type advertising all over the Las Vegas valley as “The Big Game” weekend approaches. The hype continues!
