You know there will be some, so here are the rules for taking leftovers home on Thanksgiving! Listen closely because certain people have different rules. Every situation is different as we come to find out on The Mike & Carla Morning Show!

When you have a lot of people over for Thanksgiving Day dinner, there tends to be some leftovers. But what is the etiquette for taking anything home that you might like?

This is a very sensitive issue and can create some awkward moments near the end of what some might think is the perfect holiday get together. You have to tread lightly here. That's why The M&C Morning Show opened the phone lines and suggested listener call in or even text in.

What Are Your Rules For Taking Leftovers Home?

Now on the morning show, we have our own opinions of how this works. The general consensus was that it's up to the host to decide what stays and what goes. However, when it comes to a bottle of wine or booze, that is a "gift" and should never be taken back!

When we say it's up to the host, that means if he or she doesn't want that specific leftover, then that person can return it to the person who brought the dish saying, "...here, you might want to take this home, we have plenty!" Some might take that as a slap in the face or an insult. Stating that you don't care for that particular dish...but don't take it that way!

Everyone has there limit of food in the fridge and sometimes you can only fit so much. The other point that was brought up is what kind of dish did you put it in? Was it something disposable? That has a huge bearing on the leftover.

Just know that there is some great information in this segment. Take a couple of minutes, listen to it and maybe, just maybe you might learn something! Oh, and enjoy...Happy Thanksgiving!

What To Do With Those Thanksgiving Leftovers

Thanksgiving is coming, so prepare for the food onslaught! Everyone gets excited about the turkey and all the delicious food that will be eaten on Thanksgiving. And almost better than Thanksgiving dinner, are those delightful leftovers the next day (and the days after that). Sometimes, when you store Thanksgiving food properly, it really gives time for the flavors to set in.

It's usually around day three where things go south. There is still a ton of food, but everyone is kind of "over it." But you don't want to waste food. Instead, try reimagining the ingredients into other delicious dishes. Here are some suggestions.
