Las Vegas Welcomes Newest Professional Sports Franchise
There was a time when we didn’t have any sports here in town. But now, let’s welcome the newest professional franchise to Las Vegas. The Mike & Carla Morning Show are welcoming a pro volleyball team to our city! That’s right, a professional volleyball team! It will be a part of the Pro Volleyball Federation.
Get ready for professional volleyball in Las Vegas!
Now before you get over excited about this, play will not begin until next year. According to a report from Channel 3, this is a female team and the Las Vegas franchise will be the seventh team added to the league. The team has yet to be named, but the owners are all here in Las Vegas.
There’s a lot we don’t know as of yet, but we do have a coach already. According to the report, it’s Fran Flory, who coached for almost 25 years at Louisiana State University. Flory also has an SEC Championship to her name.
At this point in time, we do know that other new franchises will be added to the league. But as of right now and starting next year, each of the seven teams, including Las Vegas, will play a 24 match schedule. All other details will should be revealed in the next few weeks.
So if you’d like, start thinking of a name now! We’re sure there will be a contest as well as the designing of the team’s crest! But again, it was just years ago when Las Vegas only had a minor league baseball team. You look at the sports landscape now, and it has totally changed!
We have the Raiders, The Golden Knights, The Las Vegas Aces, The Las Vegas Aviators and more. Even as we speak, it’s just a matter of time before our town has major league baseball. The Oakland Athletics are planning a move to Southern Nevada, which should make things very interesting with the new stadium and more.
It’s a whole new city from just a few years ago…and if you love sports, this is the place to be!
