Beware Las Vegas, The ‘Fast Food’ Scam
If you find yourself paying it forward at the drive-thru be careful. Heads up and beware Las Vegas, it could be the “fast food” scam! Found this out this morning on The Mike & Carla Morning Show! After hearing Morty’s story, it’s something that none of us were aware of but it seems to make sense now!
If you missed it, Morty went through the drive-thru at McDonald’s yesterday for some food. It was nice to know that the person in front of him paid it forward for Morty. Picked up the tab, so Morty thought, “…maybe I should keep the chain going!” He looked in the rear view mirror and only saw one guy in the car behind him. How much could it cost right? Well, low and behold, the guy racked up a bill of over $53 bucks! It’s like WHAT?
Beware Las Vegas, it could be the “fast food” scam!
Now we have heard of this happening before where someone pays for your little $5, $10 order, then it’s up to you and it just happens that the person behind you is ordering for the entire office. Listeners texted in and even called in telling of their stories.
But it wasn’t until one listener called in saying it was all a SCAM! That’s right, a SCAM! A young lady called in saying that she used to manage a fast food place and this is a scam that’s been going on for about 4 years in Las Vegas. And if you think about it, probably elsewhere as well!
Someone is in front of you and they pay for your little order knowing you might want to keep it going. Then they have a buddy pull in behind you ordering everything on the menu. When given the choice to keep it going, you look behind you and only see one person in that car. Thinking how big can their order be, you commit to paying it forward. Then you find out they’ve ordered everything! Feeling guilty that you have already committed to paying for it, you follow through.
Keep in mind that fast food chains have nothing to do with these scams. In fact, some will make you aware of them if the situation arises. Just listen to the segment and remember, when thinking about paying it forward, Las Vegas, beware!!!

Not that we have any Hardee’s here in Las Vegas, but if you should decided to drive thru when you do see one, know that this place got good numbers when it came to getting you through the drive-thru. Just know that they know what they’re doing and that maybe why it came in at #3 on the list!

Luckily it’s a place that we all have been to and apparently go to…especially when it comes to the drive-thru. And guess what, evidently there’s a reason…Taco Bell has it down getting you and your family thru in record time! For that reason, Taco Bell comes in at #2 on the list!

The #1 place on this list is Kentucky Fried Chicken…or KFC as a lot of customers refer to it! This means that they might not always get it right, but if time is of the essence, then this is the place to get the family dinner if you’re on the run. So there ya go…
