Former Raider Continues To Give Back To Las Vegas
Once you’re planted in this community as an athlete, you live here, play here and become apart of Las Vegas! However, that can all change with one phone call. Although traded back in March, there is one former Raider that continues to give back to Las Vegas. It’s a great story that The Mike & Carla Morning Show is proud to tell!
Back in March, after just two seasons with the Las Vegas Raiders, Darren Waller, was traded to the New York Giants. However, that has not stopped the big tight end from continuing to give back to this town. After getting clean himself, Waller got his life straightened out and the NFL gave him a second chance. A chance that the Georgia Tech grad took total advantage of. Not only was he a great player for the Raiders, but more importantly, his impact on this city can still be felt.
Former Raider Darren Waller Continues to Help Here in Las Vegas
Darren Waller has helped over 52 individuals get their life back on track. Over this past weekend, he got together with many of them with an event at the Gold Coast. It was a celebration for all of them on how far they have come.
The Darren Waller Foundation was setup here in Las Vegas to help others get through the same struggles Waller went through himself. The “Against The Wall” is the Foundation’s signature outreach program that continues to help others. Despite being traded, Waller will continue his efforts here as well as in New York with the Giants.
It’s an amazing testimonial to this one man who had an incredible uphill climb, but with support from family and friends was able to win. And now he is setting the example for others to follow. However, he’s humility let’s everyone know that he has been there, he know what others are going through. And more importantly, with that knowledge, he is here to help!
