The Shade Tree is a 24-hour emergency shelter for domestic violence and human trafficking survivors and their children. The organization recently announced the return of Champagne and Pearls, the organization’s signature event. It will showcase Southern Nevada’s female leaders in honor of International Women’s Day.

Save The Date

The event takes place on Sunday, March 5. Three days in advance of International Women’s Day, which is observed on Wednesday, March 8.

Tickets are available for purchase at https://one.bidpal.net/champagneandpearls2023/welcome. The cost is $150 per person. Also, tables of ten are available for $1,450.

Each guest receives brunch and mimosas. Also an interactive panel discussion, gift bag, shopping experience and more. All ticket sale proceeds will benefit the shelter’s residents. Residents are victims of domestic violence as well as human trafficking and/or homelessness.

Now in its third year, Champagne and Pearls returns to Emerald at Queensridge. They return with a powerful lineup of Southern Nevada female trailblazers. These women will engage with attendees and discuss this year’s International Women’s Day theme, #EmbraceEquity.  Punam Mathur, philanthropist and executive director of the Elaine P. Wynn & Family Foundation, will serve as moderator.

The powerhouse panel will discuss the challenges of gender bias. Also overcoming an imbalance in gender equity and what we can each do to embrace equity within our own sphere of influence.

Panelists include Norma Intriago, executive director of Dress for Success of Southern Nevada. Also Roxann McCoy, president of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People Las Vegas branch. As well as Piper Overstreet, vice president of government relations for the Las Vegas Raiders.

Linda Perez, CEO of The Shade Tree will offer opening remarks. In addition, Marie Mortera, longtime anchor and reporter for KSNV News 3, will serve as mistress of ceremonies. Throughout the event, guests will have the opportunity to shop items crafted by local female artisans. Guests must be 15 years of age and older.
