It covered the first and second-highest overall, as well as the highest in the business and finance industry. The results won't surprise those who live and work here, as they are in the career industries seeing the most growth over the last few years, especially in Southern Nevada.
The Highest-Paying Nevada Jobs Vs. National Average
Data analysts at Career.io used information from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics to determine what the highest paying jobs were in each state, compared to the national average. What these career experts found for Nevada was that jobs in the entertainment industry here pay more than the same jobs would in other states in the country.

It shows that Nevada jobs in the Entertainment industry, specifically the role of Attendant, to be the most lucrative vs. the average (photo by <a href="https://url.us.m.mimecastprotect.com/s/i-MICv2zZgcrv55XHXxljP?domain=career.io" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Career.io</a>).
Not surprising, since Las Vegas is the Entertainment Capital of the World. The study showed that Entertainment Attendants in Nevada are paid more than the national average salary for the career, by a staggering 61.80%. The title of Entertainment Attendants covers a lot of jobs in the industry. Including ticket takers, ushers, game room attendants and those in customer service who provide information on shows and activities in town.
When looking on Indeed.com for "entertainment attendant" jobs in Nevada, a variety of listings come up. Cabana Hosts, Poker Attendant, VIP Lounge Representative, and Guest Services Ambassador are all results of that search. There are also careers in spas and health clubs under the search umbrella.
Many companies in the entertainment industry do pay well in Nevada. But those who have worked in these industries, specifically in places like Las Vegas, know a lot of their income comes from gratuity. Even if the hourly wage or salary of a position is lower than desired, tips can supplement income quite a bit in these types of jobs. It wasn't specified in the study whether tips were considered as part of salary in the data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.
Second Highest-Paying Nevada Jobs Vs. The National Average
The study by the analysts at Career.io also determined what the second highest-paying job in each state was compared to the national average. For Nevada, it is a career in the field of crane and tower operations. Per ZipRecruiter.com, a Tower Operator controls a tower crane or similar equipment for a construction project.

This is another result that might not surprise people who are familiar with the current landscape of Nevada. The Silver State was just ranked as #1 in the country for pace of growth, and the state is seeing a lot of construction to keep up with the influx of new residents over the last few years.
Highest-Paying Business & Finance Nevada Jobs Vs. The National Average
Finally, Career.io's study looked at the statistics specifically regarding jobs in the business and finance industry in the country. Based on the data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, Loan Officers make more money in Nevada compared to the national average. Another industry booming in the state as construction becomes more prevalent and more loans are needed by consumers.

For the record, there are many careers in Nevada that pay well. The jobs mentioned in this study aren't the highest-paying jobs in the state. They are just higher-paying than the national average for that same job in other states. So if you are interested in jobs specifically in these areas, Nevada is a good place to start that career.

Again, well deserved salaries, for ALL of the WNBA players who have put women's basketball on the map. By the way, Caitlyn Clark's starting salary is $76,535.
