The Vegas Golden Knights have a brand-new member of the family. The problem is that no one knows his name…yet. That’s because the newest addition to the Stanly Cup Champions’ line-up is a dog. More specifically, a 7-week-old male Yellow Labrador Retriever. And now, you can help name the Knights' new puppy.

Vegas Golden Knights Team Up With America’s VetDogs

You’re going to be hearing a great deal about this puppy in the next year or so. That’s because he’s going to be co-trained to become a service dog. Moreover, he’s being groomed to help a U.S. military veteran or a first responder who is dealing with disabilities. It’s all part of a partnership between The VGK Foundation and America’s VetDogs.

According to an article on the Vegas Golden Knights website, this cute pooch will be a big part of the team. As a matter of fact, the Knights will be co-training him over the next 16-18 months. Basically, he’ll be learning how to become “a calm and confident service dog.”

How will they accomplish this task? In general, this young Yellow Lab will be undergoing “training and socialization with Golden Knights players, staff and fans.” He’ll even show up during certain events at T-Mobile Arena. So, the next time you attend a VGK game at “The Fortress” you may meet young what’s-his-name.

You Can Help Name The Knights’ New Puppy

Obviously, calling for your pet dog by yelling: “Hey, what’s your name” is bogus. With that in mind, the Golden Knights are asking for your help in naming their newest canine teammate. Now the question is: what type of name do you suggest? Will you go with a hockey theme? Likewise, you may suggest something that relates to the team’s name. Or you may choose a moniker based on the U.S. military or being a first responder.

Whichever name you choose, you can submit your suggestion online by clicking here.
