Mesquite Hot Air Balloon Festival This Weekend
Look! Up in the sky! It’s a bird! It’s a plane! No, its the annual Mesquite Hot Air Balloon Festival!
If you are looking for something fun and different to do with your family this weekend, then plan on heading north on I-15 from Las Vegas for just over an hour to enjoy this desert city’s annual hot air balloon event. It is FREE and open to the public!
The event will take place Friday January 27 through Sunday January 29 in the parking lots of the Oasis and CasaBlanca Resort, Casino and Spa at 950 West Mesquite Boulevard. According to an article by News 3 Staff and posted on News3LV.com, over 35 hot air balloons are set to launch into the desert skies above Mesquite, Nevada each morning of the event. The morning launch will happen around 7:30 am each day of the event from the Oasis parking lot.
During the evening hours, the popular “Night Glow – Candlestick Show” takes off around 6 pm on Friday and Saturday evenings from under the video marquee sign in the southwest parking lot of the CasaBlanca Resort. If you would like to see photos of this incredible event from past years, CLICK HERE.
Per the News3LV.com article, Christian Adderson, Assistant General Manager for Mesquite Gaming, explained: “Our organizers have found a way to make the Festival even more enjoyable by allowing visitors to get behind-the-scenes looks at balloon staging, piloting, and flying.”
According to Casablanca.com, their rooms are sold out for this weekend. So, either make it a one-day trip, or find a room through one of the many travel websites available to you with a quick Google search. Enjoy!
