It really wasn't that surprising, but almost 70% of Americans will tell you they love this as a "breakfast" food! The Mike & Carla Morning Show has talked about this quite a few times. But according to the results of a recent poll put out by SWNS, almost 70% of us think pizza is a great breakfast food!

5,000 people were asked and a majority said that there's nothing wrong with pizza in the morning. Now how you eat it is a little different story. A few of us really prefer our leftover pizza cold in the morning. Everyone else, they will heat it up just a bit and some don't even care.

Who doesn't love pizza for breakfast?

On The M&C Morning Show, Mike O'Brian loves pizza in the morning...maybe just about 10 seconds in the microwave and that's it. Executive Producer Morty, cold, heated up...either way, he's good! And being that Carla Rea doesn't even like leftovers, she is out of the conversation all together!

What was a little surprising were a list of the worst toppings for a pizza. You ask Mike and he will tell you PINEAPPLE! Being from Hawaii, it was a little surprising to find out that Morty does NOT like pineapple on the pie. But Carla, this is where she gives her two cents on the topic and LOVES pineapple!

Again, these are the "worst" toppings for pizza. Here we go...Avocado was on top of the list followed by mac & cheese, eggplant, pineapple and fried chicken! That's right, FRIED CHICKEN!

The article also breaks down how much pizza we eat. Not surprising, but the average person will put away 180 slices in a year. Do the math, that's a little less than 23 pizzas, or about two each month just on your own!

Listen to the segment from this morning, but a fair warning...you would have thought Morty was the only one was surveyed!

Whether you're looking for New York, Chicago or Neapolitan style there are plenty of fresh pies to go around. Dedicated connoisseurs will go to war with you on what the best style is but regardless the taste is still magical with every bite. The Italian pie is an international delicacy that has been consumed for many years.

Where to get the best pizza in Las Vegas!

The origin of the word "Pizza" is a little unclear but Dictionary.com states many etymologists believe it comes from the ancient German Lombardic word bizzo which means "bite." Some etymologists think that the word comes from the Greek word, "Pitta" which has the root word of pita referring to brand bread.

In any case of the meaning, the doughy-saucy goodness is so popular that customers can order it in many different shapes and sizes. The best part is that you can add just about anything to the top of pizzas... Except pineapple. Sorry, not sorry about it.

According to History.com, "the modern birthplace of pizza is southwestern Italy's Campania region, home to the city of Naples." That is not to say that the ancient Greeks, Romans and Egyptians didn't create their own form of what we know today.

This round favorite food possesses many great qualities of convenience and taste. You can find pizza on street corners in New York to upscale restaurants in high-rises with city scape views. Many customers like to pinch it, folding it in half or inside out folding it in half. There is no incorrect way to eat a pizza. Don't listen to the haters.

Pizza places were ranked based on their Google review star rating. Each business was chosen with more than 200 customer reviews.

Las Vegas may not be the origin place of pizza but with our fellow New Yorker and Chicagoan transplants we have saucy pies ready to eat. Did your favorite Las Vegas local pizza shop make the list? See below.
