Stanley Cup Champions Announce 15 Special ‘Theme Knights’
The countdown is on! The Vegas Golden Knights will begin defending their Stanley Cup championship title on “Opening Knight.” That’s Tuesday, October 10th, at T-Mobile Arena, against the Seattle Kraken. It’s going to be quite a night as they raise that championship banner into the rafters. “Opening Knight” is just one of the “Theme Knights” on the schedule for the 2023-2024 season.
Vegas Golden Knights Announce 15 “Theme Knights”
Earlier today (September 19), the Vegas Golden Knights released the schedule for the 15 “theme knights” they have planned. In fact, the fun begins during the pre-season on Friday, September 29th against the Arizona Coyotes. That’s when Deportes Vegas presents “9th Island Knight.”
Eventually, theme nights will finish up on the final game of the regular season with “Fan Appreciation Knight,” presented by Toyota. That will be on Thursday, April 18th when the Golden Knights battle division rivals, the Anaheim Ducks. Of course, all the scheduled theme nights will take place at T-Mobile Arena here in Las Vegas.
Southern Nevada’s First Responders Will Be Honored
It is also important to realize that there will be three separate theme nights to honor Southern Nevada’s first responders. Firstly, “Healthcare Heroes Knight,” presented by Juice Standard, starts things off on Thursday, January 4th. The Golden Knights will battle their Stanley Cup Finals rivals, the Florida Panthers.
Secondly, “Firefighter Appreciation Knight” happens Saturday, January 13th, when Vegas hosts the Calgary Flames. Get it? Firefighter Appreciation Knight. Flames. Let’s hope the VGK douse the Flames that night.
Thirdly, on the Martin Luther King Jr. national holiday, it will be a special 3 p.m. start time. So, I guess that’s really not a “theme knight” game since it happens in the afternoon, but we’ll let them slide. In any event, Monday, January 15th, Vegas will take on the Nashville Predators on “Law Enforcement Appreciate Day” presented by Martin-Harris Construction.
