Do You Wait For A Series To End To Watch It?
Remember the days of watching a to TV series and we actually waited for the new episode the following week? We had no DVR’s or streaming services to watch them on demand. That is definitely a thing of the past.
Streaming has changed the way people watch shows, movies, and series for sure. In fact about fifty percent of Americans will wait until a series ends before they even watch one second of it. Why? Binge watching is the new way to watch shows! Cliffhangers no longer leave you hanging for seven plus days to know what happens. Binge watching lets you know what’s happening immediately.
A study done by YouGov found out that almost half of Americans are doing this. It’s mostly people between the ages of eighteen and thirty-four years of age.
Those surveyed are afraid the show may be cancelled, so they don’t want to be invested into something they think may be cancelled. That is the ultimate cliffhanger that leaves them in question. To avoid that, they just wait until the show or series is over, so they at least know they show has a possible ending.
Results also showed that thirty-one percent of people who stream shows said that one to three of those shows they started back in 2022 was cancelled, causing fans to petition to bring back shows that were cancelled.
