It was a special morning celebrating International Women's Day with tributes, songs and more! A chance to recognize those women that have a special place in your life and in your heart. The Mike & Carla Morning Show took the time to play songs and tribute those women who inspired. This included going back musically to the early 60s with a song from the legendary Leslie Gore and "You Don't Own Me"!

M&C tried to cover it all this morning taking calls from listeners who wanted to salute their moms, grandmothers and others. Mike O'Brian named his mother, sister and, of course, his wife Jodi as women who have inspired him. Mike even saluted all the female c0-hosts from the past that put up with him over the past 35 years of doing morning radio.

For Carla Rea, she saluted her loving mother who clearly was the disciplinarian in the family. Carla's dad being on the road for the most part, performing all over the country, it was Carla's mom who kept the family in order.

As we celebrate International Women's Day today, we sure that there are women in your life that comes to mind. One woman saluted her mom, but said she inspired her to be the "mother" her mom wasn't! Totally different perspective, but if it worked...so be it!

So, take a couple of minutes, listen to the segment from this morning. Just think of those women in your life that made a difference to you. Those women that you knew or just admired. On this day, which should be everyday, take the time to say "thanks" and appreciate the fact that there were people to help you along the way.

To help you along your path, wherever it lead, and were a positive influence. Take a couple of minutes and listen to the tributes this morning on The M&C Morning Show...and enjoy!
