Michael Loccisano via Getty ImagesDolly Parton may be done touring but she's not done recording music! Dolly Parton promised she'd make a rock album and that's just what she's doing! And she wants to reunited Led Zeppelin for a "Stairway To Heaven" cover for her rock album.
If you're wondering why Parton is creating a rock album, it's because she was nominated for the 2022 Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame, but she knew she wasn't rock n roll, so she asked to be taken out of consideration. Unfortunately, she couldn't be taken off the ballot, so she said she'll make a rock album to justify it.
Dolly Parton said she always wanted to make a rock n' roll album and now is the time. She's even got a legendary rock producer on board to help her with the album. She said in an interview that she really wants to reunite Jimmy and Robert Plant to rerecord the iconic song. She had previously recorded "Stairway To Heaven" on her 2002 bluegrass album "Halos And Horns".
If anyone can get the two together to record, it would be Dolly. We just need to sit back and see when she finally releases the album.
