It’s not just gambling, strip clubs and headlining shows Las Vegas is known for anymore.

People come from all over to Las Vegas for the numerous amenities we offer. World class restaurants, some of the longest-running shows in the country, and more gambling than you can shake a slot machine at. But there’s one amenity that’s often overlooked by those not particular for the sport. Golfing. Las Vegas is home to some of the best golf courses in the country. And we have over 50 courses for locals and tourists alike to enjoy. That’s enough to visit a different one every week for nearly a year.

Golf roots in Las Vegas go back decades.

And this isn’t a new hobby Sin City has found. Golf has been a staple in Las Vegas since the Rat Pack made it a favorite part of their lifestyle. The National Golf Club in Las Vegas first opened in 1961 a(under the name Stardust Country Club“) and was a favorite for all four members of the Rat Pack.

Stories have been told about the musicians playing a round or two and then spending their evenings in the bar. Enjoying the cuisine, drinking at the bar, and entertaining friends with their music. And when it comes to golf itself, rumor has it Peter Lawford and Dean Martin were the two best players of the bunch.

The current landscape of golf in Southern Nevada.

Fast forward sixty years and the game still brings people from all over to Las Vegas and beyond. Southern Nevada even outside of Sin City has some impressive courses. In fact, one of the top 10 in the country that was just named by Home To Go is in Mesquite. Another is right here in our Las Vegas back yard.

From professional golf competitions to bachelor parties, Las Vegas courses are a must-do on any golfers bucket list. Home To Go recently ranked the best courses in the country. Here are the top ones in or near Southern Nevada.
