Driving Instructor Fired On His Second Day For Crashing Into Driving School
In an ironic twist of fate, a Colorado driving instructor crashes into his driving school building during his second day on the job. Of course, his employer fired him, and thankfully, there was only one minor injury.
How To Lose A Driving Instructor Job In Two Days
Evidently, this Lakewood, Colorado person (no specified gender) was driving their own personal Hyundai Tuscon when this happened. In this case, the newly hired instructor was driving to a training session at the Community Driving School in Lakewood. All of a sudden, the instructor lost control of the vehicle and drove it straight into the school’s storefront window.
Additionally embarrassing and ironic, the sign over the storefront window reads: “Learn To Drive.” You just can’t make this stuff up. In fact, if you’d like to see the photo of the aftermath of this accident, click here. There you’ll see this article, with video, by Robert Garrison on Denver7.com.
According to Lakewood Police reports on X (formerly Twitter), there was only one minor injury. However, several people in the Community Driving School had to dive out of the way of the driving instructor’s personal vehicle. As a result of this unfortunate accident, driving school owner Steve Rohman fired the newly hired instructor.
First Week On The Job Mishaps
This ironic and embarrassing story got me thinking about other first week on the job mishaps. By and large, everyone has done something wrong while learning a new job. At the very least, I’m sure you know someone who has a similarly embarrassing story.
As a matter of fact, my wife loves to tell the story about a co-worker at a restaurant in her hometown. She and her friend were waitresses at a high-class restaurant. Her friend was new on the job and new to being a waitress.
Evidently, she had not been to many restaurants either. Because a customer asked for Thousand Island dressing “on the side” while ordering her salad. At this restaurant, the wait staff put the dressing on the salad and served them.
So, this newly hired waitress actually dripped Thousand Island dressing around the rim of the salad bowl. She was especially careful not to get any dressing on the lettuce or other vegetables. Then, she serves it to the woman who ordered it. On this occasion, the look on the customer’s face once she got a look at her salad was priceless.
On the positive side, since no one was hurt, this waitress got to keep her job.
