Mark Wahlberg: Exercise Routine Isn’t That Excessive
When you see movie star Mark Wahlberg in movies, you may think he works out for hours at a time in order to stay in that kind of physical shape. But the Las Vegas resident’s exercise routine isn’t as excessive as you might think.
According to an article written by Brian Will on 8NewsNow.com, Wahlberg prefers to utilize functional movements in his exercise routine. I Googled “functional movements,” and they are exactly what you might think they are: “Pull, Push, Squat, Lunge, Hinge, Rotation and Gait.”
Per Will’s article, Wahlberg is the Chief Brand Officer for the fitness chain, F45. These locations specialize in 45-minute workouts in which participants go through those functional movements. On National Fitness Day yesterday (April 18th), he attended a midday class at the F45location in Summerlin. He even shared some exercise and training tips with the other folks who were there for that class. Pretty cool!
He did admit in the 8NewsNow.com article that he may add more extensive training methods when he is preparing for a movie role. However, when he is just living his “normal” life, he likes to stick to these 45-minute functional movement exercise routines.
If you have fallen off the wagon when it comes to your exercise routines, Wahlberg advises you just get moving. The old adage, “motion creates emotion” is some good, common-sense, advice. The Vegas Valley celebrity also says he has learned from past mistakes, so do not overdo your workout by trying to lift extra heavy weights or exercising for a much longer period of time than you are accustomed to. Instead, build up your workout routine gradually, and be sure to let your body recover.
Happy belated National Fitness Day!
