Brian Eno turns 70 today (May 15), and he might have one of the most subtly brilliant careers in music history.

Besides Roxy Music and his own solo work, he has a mind-blowing amount of producing credits over the past 40+ years.  In honor of his birthday, here’s a handful of the artists he has produced.

  Since 1984’s ‘The Unforgettable Fire,’ Eno has had a producer credit on nearly every U2 studio release.

• David Bowie

  Eno was a frequent collaborator of Bowie’s, particularly on “The Berlin Trilogy,” and eventually nabbed a producer credit on 1995’s ‘Outside.’

• Devo

  Eno notably produced Devo’s 1978 debut studio album ‘Q: Are We Not Men? A: We Are Devo!’
• John Cale

  The Velvet Underground founding member went on to release a slew of solo albums which featured Eno in a producing role, including 1989’s ‘Words For The Dying’ and 1990’s ‘Wrong Way Up.’

• Talking Heads

  Eno produced three studio album from the Talking Heads: 1978’s ‘More Songs About Buildings and Food,’ 1979’s ‘Fear of Music’ and 1980’s ‘Remain in Light.’
