ICYMI: Bob Seger Dedicating New Album To Glenn Frey

Bob Seger had some more news about his new album for fans in his hometown of Detroit this weekend.

Seger announced that I Knew You When, which is due out November 17, will be "dedicated to my great friend from Royal Oak (Michigan), Glenn Frey" of the Eagles. The two became close as they came up in the Detroit music scene during the 60s, and Frey sang and played acoustic guitar on Seger's 1969 hit "Ramblin' Gamblin' Man."

On the one-year anniversary of Frey's death in January, Seger posted a short tribute "Glenn's Song" on his official website. Seger made the announcement during his concert Saturday (September 23) at the Palace of Auburn Hills in suburban Detroit, the last concert ever and Seger's 17th sold-out date at the 29-year-old venue.

During the show Seger also played his version of Lou Reed's "Busload Of Faith," the first single from I Knew You When.
