UNLV Grad’s Movie Is Streaming On Hulu

Recent UNLV graduate Melissa Del Rosario now has a movie streaming on Hulu, a first for one of the school’s film students.

According to an article written by Kim Passoth on Fox5Vegas.com, the title of the film is Take Out Girl. The star of the movie is Hedy Wong, and the story is loosely based on her real life. She plays a  young Asian American food delivery person who will do anything to help her family out. She faces a lot of tough choices during the movie, and that’s why both the star, and the film’s producer Del Rosario, believe the movie is becoming popular. It is a story that many people can relate to.

Del Rosario produced the film while still in school, and was pitching it to studios, and selling it, while she was still a senior at UNLV in 2021. Since then, she has entered the film in over 80 film festivals, and per Passoth’s article, it won the HBO feature film award. I did a Google search on the title and found that Take Out Girl gets a 71% favorable review on Rotten Tomatoes and a 5.5 out of 10 rating on IMDb.

Passoth’s web post on Fox5Vegas.com goes on to quote Del Rosario as saying: “The local Las Vegas film industry is thriving, and it is so amazing to be able to showcase diverse stories because Las Vegas is such a diverse community.”

Wong and Del Rosario plan on parlaying the success of Take Out Girl into producing documentaries, feature films, commercials, and even virtual productions. You can catch the film streaming on Hulu, Amazon Prime, Tubi, The Roku Channel, Plex, and Crackle. Enjoy!
