And a new Henderson restaurant, called Social Station Kitchen & Cocktails, opened this month to a lot of excited patrons. The restaurant group's motto, "for locals, by locals" comes from the fact that all three of the partners live within ten minutes of the new venue. And they just took their commitment to the community one step further.
Being locals, those behind this project knew what the local area needed in terms of a restaurant. They chose the property on Eastern and Horizon Ridge because that area didn't have a lot of options for non-chain American cuisine. And when deciding on that cuisine, Social Station's chefs even polled locals to determine what the people actually wanted to see on their menu.
That's a lot of commitment to locals. But living in the area and getting input from the neighbors when making the menu isn't the only way this new Henderson restaurant is making things personal. Now they've introduced a program that gives back to the local community.
Henderson Restaurant Giving Back With New Program
Social Station didn't hesitate to starting giving back to the local community. They started their "Meaningful Mondays" on June 3. Every month, a new beneficiary is chosen and ten percent of dinner sales on Mondays for that month will go toward that local organization. For the month of June, the beneficiary is Hope For The City. A non-profit in Henderson that strives to eliminate hunger in the Las Vegas valley. The nonprofit is currently running their Hope For Kids program, which helps feed children over the summer. As many Clark County kids rely on school food programs for their meals.
To participate in the "Meaningful Mondays" program, patrons just need to enjoy a meal on Mondays at Social Station Kitchen & Cocktails between the hours of 5 p.m. and close. Ten percent of their bill will automatically be donated to the featured organization. And every month a new organization in the community will be selected to help.
Kelley Jones is one of the partners of Social Station Kitchen & Cocktails, who shares the company's belief in the power of community and the importance of giving back to it. He says "With 'Meaningful Mondays,’ we're excited to provide our guests with an opportunity to enjoy a great meal while contributing to the betterment of our city."
If you're not sure what to order for dinner at Social Station, some of their highlights include the Social Burger, with caramelized onions, American Cheese and Thousand Island. Or the Pan-Roasted Salmon with extra-virgin olive oil mashed potatoes, asparagus, and artichoke vinaigrette. Cocktail specialties include the Social Spritz with grapefruit vodka, Italicus Bergamot, Prosecco, and Fever-Tree grapefruit soda. And the Coronado, made with Don Julio Reposado, Borghetti coffee liqueur, Maven cold brew espresso and simple syrup.
New Henderson Restaurant With Old Soul Hospitality
While "Meaningful Mondays" is a great incentive to dine at Social Station, locals don't need another reason. The food is amazing and the atmosphere so inviting. There's a spacious dining room where patrons can enjoy each other's company without feeling cramped. A 10-seat bar giving just enough seats for patrons to feel cozy. And the venue offers outdoor seating for those who enjoy their meal with some people watching.
The environment of Social Station Kitchen & Cocktails is right in the name. It's a place that feels like your home kitchen with cocktails you'd enjoy with close friends. And the menu is just as comforting, but still offers a little something extra. They call it "elevated comfort food". With dishes like their BLT with brown sugar and pepper bacon. Or their Mac & Cheese with a four-cheese blend and buttery breadcrumb topping.
Social Station Kitchen & Cocktails doesn't leave anyone out. They have a kid's menu and even some treats for dogs. And they offer a special brunch on the weekends from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. With amazing dishes like their Hangover Burger with a fried egg and sweet chili sauce. Or their Vanilla French Toast with Blueberry Compote.

With the "Meaningful Mondays" program, Social Station is giving another level to their "for locals, by locals" motto. So the next time you're out on a Monday looking for dinner, get some tasty food with a side of good feels for helping our local community.
Social Station Kitchen & Cocktails is located at 10624 S. Eastern Avenue in Henderson. Open for food Monday through Thursday 11:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., Fridays 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m., Saturdays 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Sundays 10 a.m. 9 p.m.

Some pizza places had unanimous votes from multiple patrons. Others were mentioned by just one person, but with the promise it really is the best New York pizza in Vegas. Before we get into the list, let’s just mention why the type of pizza you’re looking for matters. And what people say is superior about New York style. According to GoldBelly.com, you can spot a New York pizza about a mile away. You’ll know it by the huge crust that’s thin and cut into slices about a foot long.

This guy knows the right way to eat a piece of New York pizza. He's folding it in half. There's no other way to eat Brooklyn-style pizza, especially in front of a New Yorker!
The New York pizza is the one you’ll see people folding in half and eating like a taco. An easy thing to do with how big and thin the slices are. Some people who prefer thicker crusts or their pie cut into square pieces will say their pizza is superior to the New York style. But there’s at least one thing you have to admit when it comes to pizza from the Big Apple. It’s a great conversation piece. In fact, those large crusts are meant to bring people together to eat and mingle.

You can’t argue with food that brings people together. And pretty much any pizza is going to do that because it’s just the ultimate “comfort with friends” food. But if you’re specifically looking for the best New York pizza in Vegas, here are the places locals from the East Coast swear by.
Disclaimer: Vegas locals know there are way too many New York pizza places in town to narrow it down to just five. These are just five places you can try when you're craving that style, where you won't be disappointed.
1. Dom DeMarco’s Pizzeria & Wine Bar
One New York neighbor said this is the absolute best place in Vegas for New York style pizza. In fact, he said eating at Dom DeMarco’s in Vegas is just like being in a pizzeria on the East Coast. Hard to beat that! But we can beat it, because these guys also scored the Gold in "Best of Las Vegas" 2023.
Dom Demarco’s is located at 9785 West Charleston Blvd in the Lakes in Summerlin. They offer online ordering, catering and a happy hour.
2. Anna Marie’s Italian Cuisine
If you want a true New York pizza from a New Yorker, check out Anna Marie’s. The owner is from Brooklyn. As the name says, they serve more than just pizza. They have a variety of Italian dishes made Neapolitan-style. Keep in mind locals say it’s not the cheapest place, but they also say it’s worth the price.
Anna Marie’s offers online ordering, catering, a happy hour, Vegan menu and gluten-free pizza options. They are located at 10170 West Tropicana Avenue on the corner at Hualapai. They’re closed Mondays and open late (til 9 p.m. on school nights and 10 p.m. weekends) the rest of the week.
3. Carmine’s Pizza Kitchen
Locals seem pretty unanimous about how good this place is for Brooklyn-style pizza. They say it’s foldable and that the cheese is the right texture, which is something New Yorkers are picky about when it comes to their pie. Carmine’s fans say this pie is true New York pizza.
Not to be confused with the Carmine’s in the Forum Shoppes, Carmine's Pizza Kitchen is located at Fort Apache and Sunset. They also have locations on Horizon Ridge, American Pacific and Raiders Way. Stop by during lunch and try their pizza by the slice!
4. Brooklyn’s Best
Here's another place that locals from New York say feel like home. Brooklyn's Best is owned by a guy actually from Brooklyn (if you heard his accent, you'd have no doubt) who is committed to making some seriously tasty food. Another "Best of Las Vegas" winner, these guys do more than just pizza. You can also get pasta, salads, wings, sandwiches and more.
Brooklyn's Best has two locations in Vegas. One on Tropicana and Fort Apache and another at Charleston and Industrial Road.
