Las Vegas Resort Helping Give The Gift Of Life
If you are making a New Year’s resolution to give back to the community, this is a perfect way to do just that. January is National Blood Donor Month. And one local Las Vegas resort is making it easier for the community to give the gift of life.
The JW Marriott Las Vegas Resort & Spa is recognizing National Blood Donor Month. By partnering with Vitalant to host a blood drive. And they are inviting the Las Vegas community out to participate. The event will be on Saturday, January 13 and Sunday, January 14. From 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the Grand Ballroom.
As mentioned on vitalant.org, every two seconds, someone in the U.S. needs blood. Some for emergencies like a car accident. Others need repeated, lifelong transfusions for diseases like Sickle Cell Anemia. A donor’s blood could be saving the life of a newborn baby, all the way up to an elderly person with Stage 3 leukemia.
Donors of all blood types are needed at JW Marriott donation event. Especially type O blood, as well as platelet donors. For those afraid of needles, a blood donation doesn’t hurt more than a small pinch. And the process is very safe and fast. Plus the JW Marriott is giving some great incentives for people in the Las Vegas community to participate.
Each donor will have the chance to win one of 24 gift cards, each totally $500. And each donor will also receive a 50%-off voucher to the Market Place Buffet at Rampart Casino for lunch, brunch or dinner. Plus the knowledge that they helped to save a life. Actually, more than one. The Department of Health and Human Services says one blood donation can save three lives.

When you get your blood word, your doctor will put in a request to know blood type. Then they’ll have it on file for whenever you call for it. There are instances where you go for a procedure and your blood type is tested to know what blood is needed in case of an emergency.
