Thanksgiving Food

If you’re one of the many people in Las Vegas who just doesn’t want to cook for Thanksgiving, you’re in luck.

We have a lot of restaurants in Las Vegas offering special menus just for the holiday season.

I don’t know about you, but it seems to me like this year we had Halloween, we blinked, and then it was Thanksgiving. And if you feel the same way, just know that you are not crazy. We all know that Thanksgiving is always on the fourth Thursday of November. And since the first Thursday of the month this year fell on the 2nd, it kind of pushed Thanksgiving up and screwed up all of our schedules.

Thanks a lot, guy who decided we’d mark the holiday on a Thursday rather than a set date every year! Not cool, man. Not cool. For the record, that would be Abraham Lincoln (britannica.com), for those who want to point fingers.

The silver lining, though, is that this year we have more time between Thanksgiving and Christmas. Both to do all of that holiday gift shopping and also to enjoy our holiday decorations. Because it really does suck to put up all of our Christmas stuff after gorging ourselves with turkey. Only to have to take everything down three weeks later.

The bad news? Those of us who haven’t even put away the Halloween costumes our kid left on the stairs, don’t have the energy to make a Thanksgiving dinner. Yes, those of us who are painfully stuck to our traditions will still painstakingly make the full turkey spread. But those who are more spontaneous in their lives (and I envy you), might consider going out for Thanksgiving this year.

So, if you are just not feeling cooking that dinner for your family this year, but still want a Thanksgiving meal to celebrate the holiday, here are places right here in Las Vegas where you can have your pie and eat it too.
