I remember being fascinated with the thought of leap year, and a leap day, when I was a kid. At the time I thought “how cool” it would be to be a leap baby! The Gregorian calendar is what we earth people use. That calendar goes with the earth’s orbit around the sun. That is generally 365 days, and some change. After four years, that extra change in the year’s pocket adds up to one day, every four years. So we add it to February, the shortest month of the year, every four years.
