Plan Some Fall Family Fun Picking Pumpkins In NW Las Vegas
It’s one of the great American traditions when autumn arrives. Even though we live in a warm-weather city it’s always fun to take the family to the pumpkin patch. However, during their festive fall harvest, Gilcrease Orchard in northwest Las Vegas will be charging customers to enter and take part in that fun.
Festive Fall Harvest Admission Fee On Weekends
Autumn officially arrives on Saturday, September 23rd. According to TheGilcreaseOrchard.com, that date also marks the beginning of their “Festive Fall Harvest.” At the same time, the northwest Las Vegas venue will begin charging customers a $5 entry fee through October 31st. It’s important to remember that you can avoid that admission charge by visiting the orchard on Tuesdays or Thursdays this fall.
However, it’s always nice to make that a fun family trip into their pumpkin patch. So, if you head there during one of these autumn weekends, be aware that you need to purchase tickets online in advance. You can do so by clicking here. Furthermore, kids 5 and under can enter free of charge, even on the weekends.
So, what do you get for that $5 dollar admission fee? All things considered, quite a bit. According to their website, you get to take a hay ride through the trees of their beautiful orchard. Furthermore, there’s live music playing throughout the day. Additionally, you can take your kids through the corn maze, the hay maze, visit the chicken coop and desert tortoise habitat. At the same time, there are lots of places throughout the orchard to take photos and selfies.
Here’s What You Should Know Before You Visit The Orchard
Gilcrease Orchard will be open Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. from September 23rd through October 31st. As I mentioned before, you can enter for free on those two weekdays. But you must purchase timed tickets online for weekend dates. They’re located at 7800 North Tenaya Way in northwest Las Vegas, 89131.
Firstly, you’ll want to bring your own shears to cut those gourds off the vine. Secondly, if you’re planning on getting lots of pumpkins, you may want to bring a wagon or shopping cart. Perfect for hauling them back to your vehicle.
Remember, there’s lots of uneven ground and gravel to navigate through while walking through the orchard, so wear sensible shoes. Open-toed sandals would be a huge mistake. It can get hot out there, even in fall, so you might also want to wear a hat, bring along some sunscreen, and some cold water to drink.
