Light ‘Em If You’ve Got ‘Em! Safe And Sane Fireworks Are Now Legal In Nevada

This year is flying by! July begins on Saturday, and Independence Day is less than a week away. You will now see safe and sane fireworks on sale throughout the Las Vegas valley. Here are some safety tips to keep your 4th of July celebration injury free.

Here’s When Safe And Sane Fireworks Are Legal In Nevada

Safe and sane fireworks are the only legal fireworks to purchase or light up in Nevada. Furthermore, they are only legal this year between June 28th and 12:01am on July 5th. That’s right, one minute after midnight, you can be cited for lighting up fireworks. Even if they are safe and sane.

Safe And Sane Fireworks Safety Tips

Las Vegas Fire and Rescue has posted some safety tips on their Facebook page. First of all, only light fireworks which are set on a flat, concrete surface. Secondly, before you light one up, be sure to read the manufacturer’s directions. Follow those directions closely or you could end up becoming seriously injured.

Safety officials also strongly recommend having a bucket of water near your fireworks location. In this manner, you will be able to soak all used fireworks. You don’t want any sparks or embers flying through the air. You know how dry it is here in the Las Vegas valley. In addition, there are usually strong winds on the 4th of July. You don’t want to be responsible for embers landing on dry brush.

Occasionally, you’ll end up with a dud. Whenever you have fireworks which do not light or explode, do not try to relight them! You can be seriously injured once that fuse has dwindled down. Instead, douse the dud in that nearby bucket of water.

Take Immediate Action If Someone Is Injured

If you follow safety precautions, you should not have any injuries in your party. However, you never know what an explosive device might do. Correspondingly, you cannot predict what your friends and family members might do. Just because you’re following safety precautions does not mean they are. Therefore, if someone does get injured, phone 9-1-1 immediately.

A Google search explains that if someone is burned by fireworks, you should cool the burned area under cold, running water. Do this for at least 20 minutes. Afterwards, wrap the affected area in cling wrap, or a clean plastic bag, to avoid infection.

4th of July Fireworks In Las Vegas: 7 Places To Watch

Fourth of July is right around the corner so it’s time to get dressed up in your best red, white and blue. Las Vegas loves to celebrate holidays in true glamour and Independence day should be no exception.

A large portion of the firework shows happen on the Las Vegas Strip with a few exceptions throughout and around the valley. If you’re a last minute planner, we completely understand. If you’re family loves to plan ahead, there are a few firework shows happening just a drive away.

As pretty as fireworks look they can also be dangerous. Random street fireworks will be happening all around the 702 so make sure that you protect your animals. Fireworks can be loud and scary for some animals. Please leave them in a safe room with the lights on. We also suggest parking your car in a garage (if you can) or in a safe place. Many locals will launch fireworks in their neighborhoods.

Each of the places listed below start fireworks at or around the same time. Please plan for delays or early starts. Some of the events below charge for admission. Please see each of the location’s set ticket prices to appropriately plan upon entry. A couple of the firework places are free to view from the outside street and/or parking lot. We wish you a safe and joyous festivity with family, friends and close loved ones. Please be aware of your surroundings and don’t stand too close fireworks.
