My Mom never thought she’d live this long, but she’s still going strong at 91 years young. So, I thought I’d take this opportunity to list a whole bunch of reasons to celebrate her and thank mom on Mother’s Day.

Reasons To Thank Mom For The Lessons Of My Youth

  1. Thank you for bringing me into this world.
  2. Thank you for teaching me right from wrong. I don’t always do the right thing, but I certainly know when I haven’t.
  3. Thank you for introducing me to church and teaching me to have faith in God.
  4. Thank you for always pushing me to do better. When I got a “C” in school, you were disappointed. When I got a “B,” you asked me why I didn’t get an “A.” That taught me to always strive for excellence.
  5. Thanks for allowing me to grow up playing sports outdoors. Heck, most weekends, or summer vacations, you told me to get out of the house because I was driving you crazy! I still love playing sports to this day.
  6. I thank mom for showing my sisters and me how to persevere through tough times, especially after Dad passed away while we were all still 14 and younger. Raising four kids on your own had to be extremely difficult. But you never groused about it. You just kept working hard to make sure we had food on the table, clothes on our backs, and a roof over our heads.
  7. Thank you for moving us “New York City kids” to the “country life” in Vermont after Dad passed. I never really enjoyed living there, but it sure is beautiful country. I’m glad I had the best of both worlds during my youth.
  8. Thanks for encouraging me to get a job during my high school years. I learned a good work ethic and the value of a dollar that was earned rather than given to me.
  9. Thank you for three wonderful sisters. We fought like cats and dogs as kids. Thank goodness I’m the oldest sibling. But we all get along great as adults. I still wish I had a brother!
  10. Thank you for having a great sense of humor and for teaching me to be able to laugh at my faults.
  11. Thank you for teaching me early in life that I shouldn’t brag or boast about my accomplishments. You always said: “No one likes a braggart.”

Reasons To Thank Mom And Celebrate Her In My Adult Years

  1. I’m thankful you let me choose my own path in life. I’m sure you wondered how I could possibly earn a living as a radio DJ, but here I am all these years later still sweatin’ over a hot mic.
  2. I’m thankful you never complained about all the moving around I did during my early years in radio. I should have bought stock in U-Haul back in those days with all the moving around I did.
  3. I thank mom for making my beautiful wife of 37 years and counting feel like one of her daughters, and part of our family.
  4. I’m thankful you moved out here to Las Vegas in your retirement years. It’s good to know you’re just minutes away from us instead of a long plane ride back to New England, just in case.
  5. Thank you for taking care of yourself so that you gave yourself a good chance to live a long life.
  6. Most of all, thank you for being a loving Mother to me, my sisters, and my wife.

I’m sure you have lots of reasons to thank and celebrate your mom on Mother’s Day. Don’t wait too long to let her know how much you love and respect her.

Mother’s Day 2024: Local Places Showing Love To Vegas Moms

Moms do so much for their kids, not just one day, but all year long. They really should get celebrated every single day. So if you're planning Mother's Day 2024 for a special woman in Vegas, we want to help make it count with a list of places in town that are doing special menus just for the occasion.

Mother's Day 2024 Has Lots Of Dining Options For Vegas Moms

When it comes to dining options, Las Vegas doesn't get out done by many other cities. We have some of the best world-class cuisine, celebrity chefs, and top-rated restaurants in the country. And so many of our local eateries are open late too. It seems that the hardest part on any given day, for locals and tourists alike, is deciding which of these places to visit. So we're narrowing it down to make the decision-making a little bit easier this year.

For Mother's Day 2024, you can choose to really go all out and take Mom to one of the restaurants on the Las Vegas Strip. There are two on our list worth checking out. And it's so easy on Las Vegas Blvd to treat Mom to something extra like the Bellagio Fountains or Conservatory and Botanical Gardens.

If off-strip is more her style, we've lots of choices there too. Including some stand alone places, and some inside a casino. So whether Mom likes to walk the Strip, do some gaming after dinner, or just pop in and grab a bite, you've got great options on this list.

If you're looking specifically for a brunch to take Mom to, check out this list of the four Vegas brunch spots that just landed on Yelp's Top 100 Brunch Places for 2024. Or stick around. We've got brunch options on this list too.

While Mother's Day in Vegas definitely should have a meal, mom would also appreciate getting pampered with a massage.

If you want to add a little something extra to Mom's special meal, a massage is always a win when it comes to Mother's Day gifts. And for the holiday, The NOW Massage in Tivoli Village is doing a special deal. They're offering a $20 promotional card with every $100 gift card purchase.

Awana Spas in Resorts World is also doing a massage special, if you're headed to the Strip for Mother's Day 2024. Between May 11 and May 13, you can take Mom in for a 60-minute massage with Rose Aromatherapy and a complimentary glass of champagne. Priced at $312, that would make Mom feel really pampered.

These are just a couple of local places doing massages for moms. But even if you can't find a special, Mom would love some relaxation for her day.
