‘Cronuts’ Are Coming To Las Vegas
The “Cronuts” are coming! The “Cronuts” are coming!
What are “cronuts” and should you be afraid?
Well, no, don’t be afraid at all, especially if you love sweet and delicious pastries! “Cronuts” are a delectable blend of a croissant and a donut. As you can see from the photo above, it is shaped like a donut, but it is made from flaky, croissant-like dough, and filled with flavored cream.
The Cronut was invented and trademarked by renowned French pastry chef, Dominique Ansel, back in 2013.

And now, we Southern Nevadans will not have to travel to his bakery in New York City, or try to order them online, or taste a “ripped-off” version of the original. The new Domique Ansel Bakery opens in Caesars Palace across from The Gordon Ramsay Pub & Grill this Friday, October 21st!
In fact, according to an article posted by Jamie Aranoff on TravelAndLeisure.com, if you’re willing to wait in line on Friday, you should know that the first 100 customers through the door will “receive a limited edition gift in honor of the opening.”
This will be Ansel’s second location in the USA, and it will feature new creations, including the “Lucky 7.” (You knew there had to be a Las Vegas tie-in somewhere.) Per Aranoff’s article, this collection of seven delicious pastries will include “elderflower mascarpone mousse, a French éclair filled with cassis jam, and Valrhona Caramelia chocolates.” I’m not sure what all of that means, but it sounds good!
The new Dominque Ansel Bakery at Caesars Palace will be open Monday-Thursday from 7am-9pm, and Friday-Sunday from 7am-10pm. Enjoy!

9 Desserts In Las Vegas You Must Try Today
Today is National Dessert Day and we are ready to celebrate! We have so many options in Las Vegas for world class food and any cuisine imaginable. Why should dessert be any different?
In the last decade, Vegas has really stepped up her game in the kitchen. We’re known for our celebrity chef restaurants and our over-the-top menus. And that extravagance has found its way onto the dessert menu, big time. We don’t just do cookies now. We do cookies on crack. Want a donut? How about one topped with another donut and seven layers of frosting in between? A plain cinnamon roll? What even IS that?
We’re the entertainment capital of the world! That means nothing we do can be boring. And today we pay homage to our favorite meal of the day: dessert. In honor of that, here’s some sweet facts for you, according to inthekitchenwithmatt.com. About the top ten desserts in the United States:
10. Carrot Cake. Which is a bonus because it totally counts as a vegetable…right?
9. Milkshakes. Celebrating a milestone birthday this year with the invention of the blender in 1922.
8. S’mores. Because it’s a tasty dessert and a timeless dad joke.
7. Cheesecake. I mean you know you’re good when you have whole factory named after you.
6. Ice Cream, you scream, we all scream for…you know.
5. Apple Pie. Because…America.
4. Fudge. A delicious treat and convenient way to avoid swearing
3. Brownies. We liked them so much we named our girl scouts after them.
2. Cupcakes. What’s not to love about cake, but cuter?
And the number one dessert in the United States? Good ol’ Chocolate Chip Cookies.
Well now that you’re TOTALLY distracted by your sugar craving (sorry, not sorry), here are some desserts in Vegas that you really must try today. Happy National Dessert Day!
