JOURNEY returns for shows in The Theater at Resorts World Las Vegas, and they will be accompanied by a full symphony orchestra!  Imagine how great some of their biggest hits will sound.  If you love this great American group, you’ll want to check out their official website here

This legendary band formed in the San Francisco Bay Area in the early 1970s.  The original lineup included former members of Santana and the Steve Miller Band.  But, it wasn’t until they recruited lead singer Steve Perry in 1978 that they began selling albums and hitting the pop and rock charts.

According to Wikipedia, between 1978 and 1987, they amassed twenty-five gold and platinum selling albums, eighteen Top 40 hits on the Billboard Hot 100 pop chart, and their 1988 Greatest Hits album has sold more than 15 million copies so far.  Their arena-rock anthem, “Don’t Stop Believin’,” has become one of the most digitally downloaded songs of the 20th Century.

The band went on hiatus from 1988 to 1995, as key members Steve Perry (vocals), Jonathan Cain (keyboards), and Neal Schon (lead guitar) got involved in various music projects.  Journey reunited in 1996 for the album Trial By Fire which produced the Grammy-nominated hit, When You Love A Woman.  That single reached number 12 on the Billboard Hot 100, the band’s final entry on that chart.

By 1998, Steve Perry decided to semi-retire from the music business, but most of the other band members wanted to continue recording and touring.  They recruited new lead singer Steve Augeri,  former front man for the bands Tyketto and Tall Stories.  They also replaced long-time drummer Steve Smith with Deen Castronovo, who had been a bandmate of Cain’s and Schon’s in the group Bad English.

There were some other lineup changes in the band between 1998 and 2007, when Neal Schon began a search for another new lead singer.  He saw a You Tube video of Filipino singer Arnel Pineda of the cover band The Zoo.  He was so impressed with Pineda’s cover of the Journey song “Faithfully,” that he set up auditions which led to Pineda being named the band’s new lead singer.  He has remained in that position ever since.

Journey was inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame with the Class of 2017.  Which of the following hits from the band do you think will sound best when accompanied by a full orchestra?  Feel free to reply on our social media platforms.  And, if you want more info on how to win tickets to Journey’s show with that full orchestra, click here.  Enjoy!
