It’s official. Barbie has taken over the world.
With the new movie dropping this month, everyone has gone full Barbie crazy. The shopping alone is out of control. People are buying outfits to look more like Barbie. They’re remodeling their homes to mimic the Dreamhouse. Seems every box is being checked. And now Atlanta Records has just checked the music box.
New “Barbie The Album” Soundtrack.
Atlanta Records just released a new “Barbie The Album” Soundtrack. It includes 19 tracks from some very well known performers, some brand new. Lizzo’s Pink kicks off the track list. And Ryan Gosling’s “Push” finishes it off. One of two songs Gosling sings himself for the album!
And that’s not the only exciting part of this project. “Barbie The Album” was produced by Mark Ronson. You might recognize the 7-time Grammy winner’s name from his work in Uptown Funk with Bruno Mars. Or his “Can’t Help Falling In Love” duet with Kasey Musgraves from the Elvis movie. He also wrote Shallow, made famous by Lady Gaga, for which he won a Grammy in 2019 for Best Original Song. In addition to his Grammy awards, he’s also won two BMI Awards, two Brit Awards, and a Golden Globe.
Working with Ronson on this new album is the director of the new Barbie movie. Greta Gerwig wrote, directed and executive produced the movie. And she is a co-producer of the accompanying soundtrack. And with so much talent on the tracks and behind the scenes, this album is sure to fly off the shelves.
But, if you’re more of the 80’s retro rock fan like we are, you might be wanting a soundtrack more in that genre. So we got together to pick songs we think would make the perfect Barbie compilation. Including all of our favorite bands from before the day Barbie’s heels ever touched the ground. – Wendy Rush
