Free Cat Adoptions Just In Time For Christmas
Best Friends National Adoption Weekend is coming up and a local animal rescue is participating with free cat adoptions. The event brings animal welfare organizations from around the country together to find forever homes for thousands of adoptable cats. For the event, Homeward Bound Cat Adoptions (Homeward Bound) and Best Friends Animal Society will be waiving adoption fees for all adult cats ages one and over. The event will be from December 9 through December 11 at the Homeward Bound location. The address is 2675 East Flamingo Road in Las Vegas and the event will be from noon to 6:00pm each day of the event. Homeward Bound Cat Adoptions is a small non-profit organization that focuses only on cats. Founded in 2007, they were primarily foster based but recently (2019) moved into a facility that acts as an adoption center. The center is modern and free-roaming, which allows for the cats to wander freely. This minimizes their stress levels, which makes them more adoptable for prospective families. Since 2007, Homeward Bound Cat Adoptions has saved the lives of nearly 7,500 cats and kittens who otherwise might have faced euthanization. And they're looking to increase that number this weekend at the adoption event. During the event, adult cats will be free to adopt. Any kittens available will also be adoptable, but at the normal fee of $150. Any animal adopted will be spayed or neutered, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and microchipped. So, if you have someone (including yourself) on this year's Christmas list who really wants a pet, here you go. You can save money, give a cat a forever home, and make it a very Merry Christmas for all. Here are just a few of the cats that will be available this weekend. And there are even more! So don't forget to check out Homeward Bound Cat Adoptions online to see them all. –Wendy Rush, 96.3KKLZ Las Vegas
