‘It’s Just A Dry Heat’ Las Vegas Welcomes Dangerous 100 Degree Weather
It’s officially time to welcome 100 degree weather in Las Vegas. The National Weather Service issued an excessive heat warning for the upcoming week.
In fact, this will be the first heat wave of the year and will blanket a good portion of the Western United States. The NWS further said this excess heat is “exceptionally hot,” and it’s early in the year for this type of extreme heat.
On social media, the NWS said this heat wave could potentially tie the record for the earliest 110-degree day in Las Vegas.
Las Vegas Weather Forecast For The Week
The NWS has issued an “excessive heat warning” throughout Clark County, according to the NWS’ website. By Thursday or Friday, Las Vegas and Phoenix are expected the reach or break the 110 degrees range. In fact, there’s a 70 percent chance that Vegas could reach up to 112 degrees.
Throughout the week, daily highs flirt with the 100-to-110 range in Las Vegas. The NWS’ forecast also says the daily lows will be in the high 70s, giving the valley little-to-no relief during the night time.
“This level of heat can be DANGEROUS to anyone sensitive to the heat or does not have access to adequate cooling & hydration,” the National Weather Service said on social media.
On Wednesday, Las Vegas reached 108 degrees with a record high being set in Bishop, California.
