Are ‘Tripledemic’ Concerns Affecting Your Holiday Plans
Are concerns about “Tripledemic” viruses such as COVID-19, the Flu, or RSV, affecting your gathering or traveling plans for the upcoming holiday?
A survey was recently conducted by SingleCare.com in which they questioned over one thousand respondents about their holiday plans. They found that nearly one-third of the Americans included in the survey were going to adjust their holiday plans in light of concerns over the COVID-19, Flu, and RSV viruses. In fact, over half of the respondents said they would gather in a smaller group than last year or celebrate with their household members only.
However, the survey also found that these fellow Americans still want to celebrate the upcoming holiday. 88% of the respondents said they do plan to gather with family and/or friends on Thanksgiving, and that percentage is up from 80% in last year’s survey. Do you think it is because we are just getting accustomed to living with concerns about these viruses? Maybe it is because we all feel better protected against them. Or, maybe it’s because “you only live once,” so let’s get together and celebrate life.
As far as travel plans go for the upcoming holiday, 34% of the respondents in this survey stated that they were going to go ahead and travel to their Thanksgiving celebration, and that is up slightly from 32% in last year’s survey. Traveling anywhere at anytime of the year seems to be a bigger hassle than ever, but still, many folks are willing to pay the price and spend the time to get together with family and friends at distant locations. Now that is heartwarming!
