Woman Steals $100K Worth Of Items From Man On The Las Vegas Strip
Stories like this aren’t uncommon! You really have to be on your guard and be careful who you hang around if you’re going to have luxury items with you. If the wrong person gets access to them they might end up missing! It sounds like that’s what happened in this incident.
According to KLAS, a sex worker stole tens of thousands of dollars in cash and several luxury watches from a guest staying at the Fontainebleau Las Vegas. That woman has been identified as 34-year-old Chaunique Prentiss and police believe that she stole more than $100K worth of watches, $30K in cash, an iPad, and the victim’s passport and driver’s license, per KLAS. The victim told police on August 30th that someone drugged him and his property was stolen. When police reviewed surveillance footage, they found video showing him going into his room with an unidentified woman who was later recognized as Prentiss.
According to KLAS, police were able to locate Prentiss through a prostitution advertisement and were able to determine that she was making purchases on the victim’s credit cards at several stores, including a pawn shop where she used her name and address, per KLAS. When caught, she admitted to taking the items but claimed the guy was supposed to take care of her but was sleeping, KLAS reports. Law enforcement is now awaiting results from a urine test to see if the victim was drugged. Meanwhile, Prentiss is facing multiple robbery, fraud, and burglary charges following the incident, per KSNV. She’s expected back in court in December.
