Do you think you have “The Right Stuff?” Have you always dreamed of traveling into space? Plans are in the works to build a futuristic Las Vegas Spaceport just 15 minutes away by helicopter. Get ready to blast off!

Las Vegas Spaceport Seeking Investors

Las Vegas is certainly one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world. Consequently, it makes sense that our city could become a destination for “space tourism.” According to an article by C.C. McCandless on Fox5Vegas.com, plans are in the works to build such a facility. In short, one that would cater to “space enthusiasts, tourists, and the scientific community alike.”

At the present time, paperwork has been filed by Las Vegas Spaceport with the SEC (Securities and Exchange Commission.) They are looking for investors who want to get in on the ground floor of this massive project. Initial goals are set to raise $5 million dollars to “help grow the company.”

Where Las Vegas Spaceport Plans To Build

In fact, there is a 240-acre site called “Hidden Hills Ranch” to the southwest of Las Vegas. To clarify, it is located between here and Pahrump. According to the Las Vegas Spaceport website, the area is just 15 minutes away from “Sin City” by helicopter. Comparatively, it is a 45-minute drive by car.

Las Vegas Spaceport Plans To Educate

LasVegasSpaceport.org will be an FAA (Federal Aviation Administration) licensed facility. Organizers plan on offering “Civilian High-G Space Acclimation Training.” Furthermore, they will also offer “Real Zero Gravity Training.” Additionally, you can transport your mind to the surface of Mars with VR (virtual Reality) training.

Per the Fox5Vegas.com article, the space port will be a tourist destination. Specifically, visitors will be able to enjoy a hotel, restaurant, and observation deck. With this in mind, the company says they plan on operating a Space Pilot School. Imagine receiving hands-on experience and training in flight “navigation, control systems, emergency systems, and mission planning.”

To get a better idea of they layout of the facilities, you should really watch the videos on the company’s website by clicking here.

If all goes as planned, there will also be hangar space for companies to store their space vehicles. Certainly, the hope is to have regular space flights for tourists and cargo. In the final analysis, it all sounds pretty cool. May “the force” be with them!
