Although this Francis Ford Coppola film was a box office disappointment, it won the “Palm d’Or,” the highest prize at the Cannes Film Festival in 1974. It would also go on to earn three Academy Award nominations and has been selected to be preserved in the National Film Registry by the Library of Congress. Here’s the original theatrical trailer.
