Band-Aid To Start Making Bandages For Darker Skin Tones
The family bandage company Band-Aid announced that it will start producing bandages for darker skin tones.
“We hear you. We see you. We’re listening to you. We stand in solidarity with our Black colleagues, collaborators and community in the fight against racism, violence and injustice,” said Band-Aid via its Instagram.
The decision to make darker skin toned bandages is in light of the Black Lives Matter movement and police protests for George Floyd.
In addition, Band-Aid also announced it will make a donation to the Black Lives Matter movement. The first of multiple promises the company made to combat systematic racism.
“We are committed to launching a range of bandages in light, medium and deep shades of Brown and Black skin tones that embrace the beauty of diverse skin,” said Band-Aid. “We are dedicated to inclusivity and providing the best healing solutions, better representing you.”
