The family bandage company Band-Aid announced that it will start producing bandages for darker skin tones.

“We hear you. We see you. We’re listening to you.⁣ We stand in solidarity with our Black colleagues, collaborators and community in the fight against racism, violence and injustice,” said Band-Aid via its Instagram.

The decision to make darker skin toned bandages is in light of the Black Lives Matter movement and police protests for George Floyd.

In addition, Band-Aid also announced it will make a donation to the Black Lives Matter movement. The first of multiple promises the company made to combat systematic racism.

“We are committed to launching a range of bandages in light, medium and deep shades of Brown and Black skin tones that embrace the beauty of diverse skin,” said Band-Aid. “We are dedicated to inclusivity and providing the best healing solutions, better representing you.⁣”
