How many of us have been collecting gadgets over the years that for some reason we just won’t throwaway? There can be a dozen reasons as to why we won’t ditch something that we bought years ago with our hard earned money. From, “I love this chair and it’s so comfortable” to “…it’s been though a lot with me!” Whatever the reason, we just can’t part with items that tend to just collect dust whether in the house, put away in the garage or tucked away in a storage compartment.
I myself have a few of these items that, for whatever reason, just haven’t been able to make it out the door. From the double cassette deck/turntable/AM&FM stereo that still works and I can crank it up when I’m out in the garage to my alarm clock/radio that sits on the nightstand by my side of the bed that wakes me up every morning and has for the past 25 years!
According to a recent article put out by SWNS Digital, where they polled over 2000 people, a list was put together of those “gadgets” we just can’t part with…although the article is out of England, no doubt we can all relate no matter where we live when it comes to this list.
A few of the gadgets some of the people polled just couldn’t part with included an MP3 players, record players (of course with the comeback of vinyl, it’s no surprise that people are keeping these). Headphones, old gaming consoles, Blu-rays, camcorders and much more.
But what made the Top 10? How about those of us still hanging on to an old set of headphones? We all have those headphones that are just that comfortable and sound just so great, they’re hard to replace! CD players of course and who doesn’t have an old gaming console hanging around…just in case you host a retro-gaming night at the house!

#5 OLD LAPTOPS
Even with the price coming down on conventional laptops, everyone has that old “standby” they keep around just in case…clearly the reason this gadget came in at #5 on the list of “Gadgets We Won’t Throw Away”!

#4 OLD TV'S

Needless to say, everyone has that old TV they just can’t part with to have in the garage or on the back porch…thus ending up #4 on the list!
#3 DIGITAL CAMERAS
Like everything else, new and improved cameras are coming out all the time, but just in case, we always have that one digital camera that you just know how to work making pictures seem that much better. Maybe one reason it comes in at #3 on the list!

#2 OLD PHONES
Okay, the picture really isn’t the phones they’re talking about, but to drive the point home, we have a feeling someone has an old dial phone somewhere in the house that they just can’t let go of for sentimental reasons. For that, “old phones” comes in at #2 on the list of those godets we just can’t throw away!

#1 DVD PLAYERS
Topping the list is of course the DVD player…admit it, you still have on hooked up to your tv just in case you wanted to watch that all time favorite movie of yours or a DVD of your concert! This can be the only reason we feel that the DVD player came in at #1 on the list…and there ya go!
