The holidays are right around the corner and here you go, the worst sides dishes you can offer at Thanksgiving. Now keep in mind, when The Mike & Carla Morning Show brought this up this morning, they were SHOCKED (shocked)!
It seems that the ones that we count on the most, that we have to have made the list! It really was amazing, but again, who are we right? But according to NBCRightNow/Yakima, you might be surprised at what was the #1 worst side dish.
There are the worst side dishes to serve on Thanksgiving!
Before you find out what was included in the Top 5, you will be surprised at what made the Top 10. Pumpkin pie, mashed potatoes, and even corn made it into the Top 10!
All this was a result of a study with over 1000 adults…not sure what part of the country, but we have a good guess. Of course keep in mind that depending on what part of the country you live, the side dishes might include some outside the norm!
Mike O’Brian’s wife whips up a bowl of rutabaga for the holiday. Here’s the catch, out of the entire family only Jodi and our son-in-law likes it! So, you have 8-10 people over with only 2 people lovin’ the rutabaga…just so there’s more leftovers for them!
Now, since The M&C Morning Show wanted to know about your odd side dishes. One woman, a transplant from North Carolina, living in California for the past 20 years, had typical southern side. Collard Greens! Just not sure if you see a bowl of that on a “traditional” Thanksgiving table. But what do you consider “traditional” anymore?

Top 5 Worst Thanksgiving Day Side Dishes
#5 STUFFING
According to the report mentioned above, stuffing got a little over 26% of votes as the worst side dish for Thanksgiving! Stuffing!!!! Whether that is true or not, it comes in at #5 on the list!
#4 TURKEY
Correct me if I’m wrong, but isn’t turkey like the main dish? When did turkey become a side? Nonetheless, those surveyed, a little over 27% said they could do without in on Thanksgiving! Maybe why it’s #4 on the list!
#3 GREENBEAN CASSEROLE
We think this is the one side dish that everyone loves and has to have at Thanksgiving. Well, except for the over 28% that voted it as the #3 worst side dish! This is almost sacrilegious!
#2 SWEET POTATOES OR YAMS
You’re not gonna get an argument from us…sweet potatoes or even yams not high on side dishes during the holidays. No wonder they ended up at #2 on the list!
#1 CRANBERRY SAUCE
Here ya go…the #1 side dish that is considered the worst at Thanksgiving. Cranberry sauce. We found out that depending on how it’s served or made depends on how much people will keep passing it around the table. So there ya go…the Top 5 worst side dishes for Thanksgiving!
