It’s a new start for this iconic Vegas hotel. After a two-year hiatus, the Palms Casino Resort will be opening their doors today, April 27.
The reopening of the Palms is happening right as the NFL draft kicks off, making this a busy week in Vegas.
The San Manuel Band of Mission Indians purchased the Palms Casino Resort from Red Rock Resorts Inc. for $650 million, making this the biggest purchase by a Native American tribe in Vegas, according to Bloomberg.
Further, this will be the first Native American-owned and operated resort in Las Vegas. According to USA Today, a Native American tribe runs Virgin Hotels Las Vegas‘ Mohegan Sun Casino. However, Virgin Hotels and partners own the resort.
The opening of this off-the-strip resort is historic, and the opening night will include a “fireworks extravaganza” to celebrate a new chapter in Palms history, according to a press release from the Palms.
“It’s an honor and a privilege for us to welcome everyone back to Palms Casino Resort Las Vegas,” San Manuel Gaming and Hospitality Authority Chairwoman Latisha Casas said. “We look forward to introducing our guests to our rich history, culture and signature hospitality. We can’t wait to make history together.”
If you plan on visiting the resort, attendees can expect the return of popular restaurants such as Scotch 80 Prime and Mabel’s BBQ, which are both by Chef Michael Symon. Other mouth-watering restaurants includes the debut of Serrano Vista Cafe and Send Noodles.
And of course, the Palms will have an expansive multi-level pool space. This will include two luxurious main pools and 39 cabanas, most with their own private pool, according to the resort’s press release. Locals and tourist can relax on oversized daybeds and poolside lounge chairs that are dotted throughout the pool space.
“From our locals to guests visiting from near and far, our goal is simple – to deliver a truly distinctive experience that makes you feel at home while you are in Las Vegas,” said Cynthia Kiser Murphey, General Manager for Palms Casino Resort.
As we prepare for the Palms to reopen and inject a level of vibrancy within the Vegas resort scene, here are a few exciting things that the resort will offer!
