Stoned Cold Country is a sixtieth anniversary tribute to the Rolling Stones.

Robert Deaton is executive producer of the 14-track album and an accompanying documentary film. He says this album is country music's thank you to the Rolling Stones for 60 years of inspiration, and providing the soundtrack of our lives,

On early ’70s cuts like “Wild Horses” and “Dead Flowers,” The Rolling Stones showed their affinity for American country music. Now, some of country’s top artists are returning the love — with the 14-track set Stoned Cold Country, out March 17 on BMG.

Deaton attributes the Stones' country roots to around 1971, when country icon Gram Parsons spent the first half of the year living in guitarist Keith Richards' French villa, during recording sessions for the Stones' album "Exile on Main Street."

If you listen to the Mike and Carla Morning Show, you know I'm (Carla) not a big country fan - but this album is fun!

The album features some of the biggest names in country music: Eric Church, Brothers Osborne, Little Big Town, Zac Brown Band, Brooks & Dunn and Ashley McBride, Lainey Wilson among others.  Acts like Brooks and Dunn, and Eric Church say they cut their teeth playing Rolling Stones covers in their early years, playing dive bar gigs. You could probably say "what band (or artist) didn't?" when it comes to The Rolling Stones.

Country artists have done a lot of tribute albums, that have gone on to become best sellers, including 1994’s Common Thread: The Songs of the Eagles, which is certified triple platinum, and Lionel Richie’s Tuskegee, in 2012, that paired him with top country artists remaking his biggest hits - platinum.

In my opinion, Stoned Cold Country has an even wider appeal, because of the Rolling Stones’ global fandom. Country artists are going to have a very far reach with this album, and people who may have never heard them before will hear them now!

Here are a few of the artists, and songs featured on the Rolling Stones tribute album, Stoned Cold Country. Eric Church, and his back up singer Joanna Cotten, BRING IT on Gimme Shelter, And Elle King NAILS Tumbling Dice!
