Earth, Wind & Fire has become one of the most innovative and commercially successful musical acts in history by including genres such as jazz, pop, funk, R&B, Latin, EDM, disco, and soul in their songs. Their list of accomplishments is extremely impressive, having won 6 Grammy Awards and 4 American Music Awards. They’ve been inducted into The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, the Vocal Group Hall of Fame, the NAACP Image Award Hall of Fame, Hollywood’s Rockwalk, in addition to receiving a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.   Founder Maurice White was inspired to write and record this Top 40 hit after seeing the film Close Encounters Of The Third Kind.

  This feel good tune spent 2 weeks at #1 on the Billboard R&B Chart and became the group’s second top 5 single on the Hot 100.
