MGM Resorts Raises Las Vegas Strip Fees for Second Time in 2024
In a move that caught visitors off guard, MGM Resorts hiked their resort and parking fees at all 12 Las Vegas Strip properties.
This December 2024 increase comes as their second price bump in a single year caused by gaming revenue that faces uncertainty, Casino Reviews reports.
“The company has stated that these changes align with marketplace standards and are necessary to maintain competitiveness both locally and nationally,” says Erik Gibbs from Casino Reviews.
The company’s luxury properties—Bellagio, Aria, Vdara, and The Cosmopolitan—now charge $55 per day for resort fees, an increase of $5. Six other properties, including MGM Grand and Mandalay Bay, bumped their daily resort fees to $50, travel blog Frommer’s reports.
Even the budget-friendly hotels saw increases. At Luxor and Excalibur, guests now shell out $45 daily to stay—an $8 increase. Following suit, New York-New York matched this increasing trend, adding $3 to its fee. These required charges add up quickly. A three-night stay at one of the upscale spots means an extra $165 just in resort fees.
Parking got more expensive for MGM visitors, too. Self-parking runs $20 Monday through Thursday, rising to $25 on weekends. Hotel guests now pay a flat $20 per day to park—$2 more than before. Valet parking now costs $40 across all properties. This replaces the previous tiered pricing that ranged from $25 to $40. Some MGM Rewards members will continue to enjoy free parking privileges.
These changes impact everyone—tourists and locals alike. The daily fees do come with a few perks: internet access, gym use, and phone service. At least guests can access digital newspapers and magazines without limits.
In January 2024, MGM rolled out its first round of increases. When questioned why, they cited current market rates and included amenities as justification, CDC Gaming said.
