Las Vegas’ Top Halloween Events
When the neon lights flicker in the city skyline and the streets of Vegas Boulevard become filled with costume-donning party-goers, a sense of fun and excitement pour into the atmosphere of the valley. Halloween events in Las Vegas are unforgettable.
From immersive experiences to family-friendly pumpkin patches and other electric events, there’s a plethora of options for Halloween fun.
Events start on Oct. 1 and last throughout the month. Some of these activities include haunted houses, escape rooms, parties and so much more. Throughout bars in the city, you can get fun Halloween-themed drinks like a candy corn shot or a mummy brain shot.
Along with those events and fun bar options, many hotels transform and offer a spooky ambiance for the occasion. But whatever event you may be looking for, Las Vegas has it all. Here are some events that are perfect for adults, kids and even pets.
Family-Friendly Halloween Events + Fun
Among the dry desert landscape lies a beautiful orchard called Gilcrease Orchard. It’s a locally-loved spot for fresh pumpkins, beautiful sunflowers, okras, fresh peanut butter, mixed peppers and so much more. You need to buy tickets and reserve a spot before you go. The orchard is often at capacity, especially on weekends and closer to Halloween.
In the parking lots across Las Vegas, pumpkin patches sprout from the concrete during the start of October. The Halloween Town Pumpkin Patches are the perfect fall activity for the entire family. There are a few locations across the city. We visited the Halloween Town Pumpkin Patch on Rampart near Boca Park and Tivoli Village.
There are usually carnival rides for kids, fun treats — like a pumpkin spiced latte in a mini pumpkin — carnival food and an artificial pumpkin patch for any potential carving activities. You need to add this pumpkin patch to your list of Halloween events.
The next attraction that’s perfect for Halloween festivities is HallOVeen at the Magical Forest. Dates for this attraction run from Oct. 18 until Oct. 31. This is a 2.5-acre outdoor park that includes mini golf, nightly performances, carnival games, a beer garden and more. Opportunity Village is a non-profit that operates this Halloween activity, which makes this attraction even sweeter for your checklist of Halloween events.
Hallow-Reef at Shark Reef Aquarium located on the Mandalay Bay property will happen until Sunday, Oct. 27. This is a trick-or-treat event like no other. Attendees are able to explore the different marine life while also stopping by different candy stations. Click here for reservations.
Thrilling Adult-Oriented Halloween Parties
Aside from the family-friendly events, the adults need to have some ghoulish fun, too. The Sin City Halloween Ball is an electric meeting of the spooky, kooky and strange. The event is on Oct. 26 at The Theater at Virgin Hotels Las Vegas.
The Sin City Halloween Ball includes world-class DJs, erotic and exotic entertainment, audience games and good energy. Snag some last-minute tickets here.
What’s a holiday celebration if it’s not on Fremont Street? Fremont Street is where the wild souls gather during each drinking holiday. This Halloween, Freaks on Fremont will be a Halloween-day event with DJs, full-bar access, live music and trunk-or-treat candy stops. This event will be happening at The Block, a bar downtown.
The Rock of Horror Event will also be happening under the canopy on the Fremont Steet Experience. There will be a costume contest on the 3rd Street Stage. The first-place winner will get a $2,500 cash prize. The second-place winner will receive $1,000 and third place will win $500.
Zouk Nightclub will also be a popular venue for fiendish fun. The Halloweekend lineup includes DJ Snake, Ty Dolla $ign, Jamie Jones and G-Eazy. There will also be a “Sexiest Halloween Costume” contest with over $10,000 in cash and prizes. This will be a weekend to remember simply because the Zouk Group has perfected the art form of modern-day clubbing.
Spine-Chilling Haunted Attractions
If you’re celebrating Halloween, but you’re craving something skin-crawling and spine-chilling then we have your options covered.
Frakling Bros. Horror Shows is finally back with a sparkly new location at Desert Breeze Park. This horror park has the only R-rated haunted house in Nevada. There are three attractions: the Coven 13, Castle Vampyre and the Gates of Hell. The Gates of Hell is the haunted house that requires a waiver and only people who are 17+ can go through the haunt.
The next spooky activity that you can do is quite frankly horrifying. The Zak Bagans’ Haunted Museum is a structure that’s dedicated to the paranormal and the unknown. In fact, I visited this museum and fainted in the Jack Kevorkian “Death Van” room.
Other notable items in the museum include the Conjuring 3’s “Devil Rocking Chair,” Peggy the Doll, Sharon Tate’s wedding dress, Michael Jackson’s “Propofol Chair,” and a Dybbuk Box. Upon entering the museum, you’re greeted with an eerie energy. But, if you’re a horror-lover then this museum is filled with interesting and thought-provoking items that are historical.
Asylum & Hotel Fear is another Las Vegas haunt staple. Located in the parking lot of Meadows Mall, this is an immersive and terrifying haunted experience. There are two different experiences: Hotel Fear and Asylum. Both are spine-chilling and a must-visit for any haunted-house lover.
For those who shake their heads at “fake” haunted houses and are craving for a real supernatural experience then check out the Las Vegas Ghosts Tours.
These tours take you on a journey through the city’s most haunted and devilish streets. Gangsters, Glitz and Gore is the night-time tour, and it’s the perfect name for the sinister underbelly of Las Vegas.
Halloween-Themed Shows and Performances
Zombie Burlesque at the V Theater at Planet Hollywood is a spooky take on a traditionally sexy and alluring show. Zombie Burlesque is a mixture of choreography, comedy and a sprinkle of undead sexiness. It’s a variation of acts and live music, plus there’s JELL-O shots offered at the show!
ABANDON by the Vegas Theater Company is a terrifying theater show about “the life and writings of the Marquis de Sade during his years spent imprisoned in an asylum.”
It’s an R-rated psychological horror show that had been rated as one of the best shock theater performances in the city. According to the show’s website, this production mixes together grotesque horror, psychological terror, beauty and edgy kink to create a live show like no other.
Spooky Dining and Drinking Experiences
Halloween is also a time when culinary innovators create frightfully delish menus and treats. The Sand Dollar Lounge will have a pop-up cocktail bar called “Nightmare on Spring Moutain.” This pop-up cocktail experience serves fall-inspired cocktails. The bar transforms into a 1980s horror movie, giving the event a sense of nostalgia and a great atmosphere.
The Underground Speakeasy at the Mob Museum will also be having a Halloween party on Oct. 31 from 8 p.m. to midnight. Party with the mobsters and enjoy the crafted cocktails like the Corpse Reviver No. 2 ( Bombay Sapphire gin, Lillet Blanc, Cointreau, lemon and absinthe), Trik or Treat ( blend of boozy Stroh 160-proof spiced rum and Smuggler’s Reserve, balanced with the decadent combination of heavy cream and chocolate liqueur) and the Pumpkin King.
Pinkbox Doughnuts also also a wide selection of Halloween-themed donuts that are chewy, delicious, and satisfies a sweet tooth. Black Tap Craft Burgers & Beers will also have over-the-top milkshakes with a Halloween theme.
