Animal Foundation Saves 4 Puppies Left In Brutal Las Vegas Heat
The Animal Foundation saved four puppies, who were exposed to the severe Las Vegas heat and left in a blue bucket on a sidewalk, according to the animal welfare agency.
There four puppies were about four months old. They were left alone in the heat, and they even faced the uncertainty of survival, according to the Animal Foundation.
Animal Protection Services brought the puppies to the Animal Foundation where they were diagnosed with having severe mange — which is when microscopic mites burrow into the skin, according to to the American Kennel Club.
Along with mange, the puppies also had bleeding skin, hair loss and open sores. In a positive note, the puppies responded well to treatment, the Animal Foundation said in an update. The puppies are being treated with medicated baths, antibiotics and other specialized treatments. The medical staff believes that it’ll take a few weeks for the puppies to heal.
“None of these puppies had collars or microchips, so we named them Aramis, Constance, Athos, and Milady,” the Animal Foundation said online.
The Animal Foundation encourages donations to help the puppies make a full recovery. Click here for donation information.
Foster Opportunities For Animal Foundation Puppies

The Dangers That Extreme Heat Poses For Pets
Las Vegas heat can be brutal — especially on our pets. The extreme Vegas heat can cause heatstroke and burnt paw pads from the sizzling pavement. Along with that, the American Veterinary Medical Association says that parasites are also more common during hot weather.
To help protect your pet against the dangers of heat, the American Veterinary Medical Association urges pet owners to keep their pets indoors and to even give your furry friends — especially dogs — a “summer hair cut.”
Remember, if it’s hot for you then it’s even hotter for your pet. So, be sure to keep an unlimited supply of water, to take walks during the cooler part of the day, and NEVER leave your pet in the car.
